Pigmented Lesions

Sunspots, age spots, freckles, and brown spots are all pigmented lesions. Sun exposure, age, hormones, and heredity are some of the causes of these unsightly dark spots. The good news is treatment with an Alexandrite laser can greatly reduce and eliminate them. During treatment, laser light is absorbed only by the unwanted melanin, raising the temperature to cause shattering of the pigment. In the days to weeks after treatment, the shattered melanin particles slough off, revealing new healthy skin without the spotting! This can be done on the face, chest, hands, arms, and legs. Usually only one or two treatments are all that is necessary, depending on the severity and amount of lesions.
